Last October 31, James Dashner (@jamesdashner) was open on Twitter for questions about The Maze Runner and The Eye of Minds. A few of his answers are the following:

“My hopes and expectations for the TMR movie are SKY HIGH. And reasonable.”

“It makes James very happy (yes, I’m tweeting in 3rd person) to hear that people are loving TEOM. Thank you.”

“TMR was inspired by the TV show LOST, Lord of the Flies, and Ender’s Game.”

“It was bittersweet to leave TMR behind, but really really fun to do something brand new.”

“You guys are going to be blown away by Dylan O’Brien’s performance as Thomas. Seriously.”

He also said you can still talk to him through mention when he’s online. You can ask him for anything, even force him to write an epilogue. (I tried.)

James Dashner Twitter Chat Tonight

James Dashner will be hosting his monthly Dashner Chat on Twitter tonight at 9 P.M. ET.James Dashner author The Maze Runner The Scorch Trials The Death Cure The Kill Order

To ask him a question, all you have to do is send him a tweet (@jamesdashner) with the hashtag #DashnerChat on the end. You can also use the hashtag #DashnerArmy to show you a fan of all of James’s works and not just The Maze Runner. James will answer questions for an hour. I would expect this chat to be mostly centered around James’s upcoming book The Eye of Minds as opposed to the movie adaption of  The Maze Runner, but we can expect that he will tweet his praise for the cast and crew of the movie at least a few times.

Even if you can’t tune in tonight to James’s Twitter for the Q & A, do not fret because we will post any big news right here afterwards!

Dashner Chat Recap

James Dashner just finished his monthly Twitter Q & A session. The chat was very movie centered because of all of the recent castings as well as the fact that James was on the set in Baton Rouge talking to director Wes Ball as well as producer Wyck Godfrey earlier today. If you weren’t following along all hour, here are a few of the highlights.

I say this with complete, total, 100% honesty: I think our cast for this film is perfect. #dashnerchat

Final comment on the movie. Wes Ball is supernaturally gifted and visionary. We are all very lucky to have him in charge. #dashnerchat

James has mentioned things similar to this on multiple other occasions and it really seems that this movie is in good hands!

Also: At dinner I used the word “if” about the other movies and got in trouble. I was corrected. “when”. Boom. #dashnerchat

-James Dashner (@jamesdashner) April 25, 2013

As it has been said on numerous occasions, the people who are making this movie are in love with the source material and their passion for this project is a really good sign as to what we can expect as a final product, including the future addaptions of ‘The Scorch Trials’ and ‘The Death Cure’.

In case you missed it, director Wes Ball has promised that I will have a cameo in the movie. #nextbradpitt#dashnerchat

Now we know one Easter Egg to look out for on February 14th! Who do you think he will play? He said he was not going to be Rat Man, but you never know…

What did you think about this month’s Dashner Chat? Does any of this information coming from James help ease your fears about who is making this movie and how they are doing so? Let us know in the comments!
